Why Holistic Coaching Is as Efficient as AI — "Learning a Model" vs "Memorising Rules"
Have you ever wondered why modern AI is so powerful? Not because it "memorises many rules", but because it has "learned a model".
This principle is strikingly similar to how we coach.
🤖 Modern AI: learning a "model"
Deep learning is efficient because it does not hard-code rules one by one; instead, it learns a "pattern" (a model) from large amounts of data. Once it has learned that model, it can apply it to situations it has never seen before.
That is "generalisation" — one model, handling infinitely many situations.
📜 Traditional AI: memorising "rules"
In contrast, early AI was "rule-based": programmers had to explicitly list every "if-then" condition. Each new situation required a new rule. The rules piled up, the system became bloated, and efficiency dropped.
One learns a model; the other memorises rules. The difference is clear.
🧠 Psychological services: the same principle
Traditional psychotherapy is like a "rule-based system" — it divides you into different "symptoms" and "parts", diagnosing, analysing and treating each one separately. This approach implies you are "sick" or have a "problem", and its direction is to "cure the illness".
Holistic coaching is like "deep learning" — we help you learn a "holistic model": seeing the whole person, not individual symptoms. Once you have learned that model, you can apply it yourself to every situation in life.
You do not need to be "cured". You only need to learn a "model".
📊 At a glance
| Comparison | Traditional Psychotherapy (Rules) | Holistic Coaching (Model) |
|---|---|---|
| Core approach | Rules: diagnose, classify, analyse symptom by symptom | Model: see the whole person, learn one holistic pattern |
| Efficiency | Lower: handle each part separately | Higher: one model, applied to every situation |
| What it implies about you | Implies you are sick / have a problem (patient) | Does not imply you have a problem (client) |
| Direction | Cure illness | Improve and grow |
| Your role | Passive recipient of treatment | Active learner, growing |
✨ You only need to learn one "model"
Once you have learned the "holistic" model — seeing yourself as a whole, with body, mind, emotions and relationships interconnected — you no longer need to "treat" symptoms one by one, because you already hold a universal way of handling things.
That is why holistic coaching is more efficient than traditional therapy. 💛
