Stop calling them "naughty" 🙅 your one line could box them in
"He is naughty." "She does not fit in." "He cannot focus." 🙄
We say these things without thinking. But every line quietly puts a label on a child. 🏷️
You might think: "I am just describing, what is the harm?"
Here is the thing — it is a big deal. 😳
Because children swallow these labels and slowly start to believe them.
"I am naughty." "I do not fit in." "I cannot focus." — and then they live up to it.
Holistic Psychology does not treat symptoms in isolation. 🩹
We believe behind every behaviour is an unmet need.
Crying, silence, withdrawal, tantrums... may all be the child's way of expressing fear, frustration, insecurity or sensory pressure. 😢
So instead of rushing to ask "how do I stop this behaviour?"
Ask first: "What might they be feeling right now? Is this behaviour helping them cope with something?"
When we swap "labels" for "understanding", a child finally gets the chance to be truly seen and heard — and the space to become who they are. 💛
